AAAS releases 2021 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Report

The AAAS 2021 DEI Report, Nurturing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Scientific Enterprise, explores the importance of DEI across the scientific enterprise. It includes updates on demographic data including external advocacy and programming, and internal actions to promote DEI. STPF is featured as an example of DEI action on a number of pages.

Grad students need real-world policy training

STPF alum fellow Nancy Holt makes a case for giving academic credit to graduate students who work on projects for local government. She knows a lot about why this should be: she heads Science for New York, a group dedicated to connecting scientists and policymakers to support the wellbeing of New York City.

STPF alum helps shape the histories of future generations

“For me, policy has always been about having an influence on how history gets shaped for the betterment of the lives of our communities,” said Frances Colón. She is continuing this mission at a think tank where she is driving ambitious, global action to mitigate climate change.
