2024 S&T Policy Fellows' Career Summit - IN PERSON

The goal of the Career Summit is to connect emerging science policy leaders to diverse career paths and the career development resources and skills needed to pursue them.

Requirements to Attend this Event:

The goal of the Career Summit is to connect emerging science policy leaders to diverse career paths and the career development resources and skills needed to pursue them.

You will have the opportunity to attend a series of career development panels and network with STPF alumni speakers. These panel discussions will highlight STPF alumni who have navigated career paths in the academic, non-profit, government and private sectors. You can also hear from alumni who have navigated mid-career transitions post-fellowship.

The Career Summit workshops will provide new tools and approaches to explore career possibilities, communicate your value, and build professional relationships in different ways. You can choose two workshops out of the four being offered to attend in the afternoon. You’ll also have the chance to attend a follow-up virtual meet-and-greet with STPF Career Coaches on Friday, January 19th.

The in-person summit will be held at the Capital Hilton. More details on the program, speakers, and how to prepare will be provided prior to the Career Summit. In the meantime, you can check this event page and this speakers page for the most current information. You don’t want to miss this dynamic event and the opportunity to connect with alumni and each other!

Event Agenda:

Career Summit participants will be invited to the event app (Whova) approximately one week in advance. Whova will have all the information you need including the final agenda, speaker profiles, resources, logistical details, and more. Please note that there are concurrent panel sessions and workshops - you will need to select the sessions you wish to attend in advance.

Preparation:

Please download the Whova App and review session descriptions and speaker bios to determine which concurrent sessions you wish to attend.

Please also note that for some afternoon workshops, bringing a laptop is recommended.

Event Format: In-Person

The Career Summit is an in-person-only event. Please see the requirements to attend this event session below.
